Congratulations to Dallas Symphony Orchestra President/CEO Jonathan Martin, DSO Maestro Jaap van Zweden and their team. They just announced that they ended the 2014-2015 year with a balanced budget.
While keeping expenses a priority, the financial success was “due in part to significantly increased contributions and commitments.”
As proof of that, it was reported that “the DSO saw more multi-year gifts and pledges during the 2014/15 season than it has seen in any single year in the organization’s recent history. In addition to over $7 million in annual fund contributions during this season, the DSO secured over $25 million in contributions and commitments that are part of a long-term strategic fundraising initiative to provide a sustainable financial future for the symphony.”
According to DSO Board of Governors Chair Joe Hubach, “We thank our volunteer leadership and our expanding group of donors who have supported the DSO during this year. The generosity of new and long-term contributors and the commitment of our corporate partners reflects the impact that the Orchestra is making in its community and across North Texas. It is an exciting time to be a part of the DSO.”
