The Greater Dallas Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals is really planning a big deal for its 30th annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Friday, November 13, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
And they’re announcing the big plans now!
For the first time in the luncheon’s history, they’re gonna have an honorary chair, and that person will be the petite sweetheart Nancy Dedman.
In addition to the Dedman touch, Luncheon Chair Sarah Elliott and Co-Chair Rebecca Rhule have announced that South Texas Money Management LTD will be the Special 30th Anniversary Diamond Sponsor.
And to make the announcement complete, they have revealed the following honorees, who “exemplify commitment, dedication and talent toward their neighbors:”
- Outstanding Philanthropists – Cecilia and Garrett Boone
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser – Nancy Strauss Halbreich
- Outstanding Fundraising Executive –James N. Falk, CFRE
- Outstanding Foundation –The Moody Foundation
- Outstanding Corporation –JPMorgan Chase
- Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – Kendall Deitch
- Special Recognition Award – Scott Murray
This event is a fav among fundraising luncheon vets. In addition to a great crowd of people and a celebration of the area’s professional fundraisers, the acceptance speeches never run over. Why? Because Presenting Sponsor KERA tapes each of the speeches ahead of time and no one goes over their time limit.
BTW, in the past, the true scene stealers have been the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy recipients. These kiddos are amazing and leave the audience in awe of what can be accomplished even at a young age.
