The Parkland Foundation Board of Directors have a new leader. They have elected Catherine Rodewald to a two-year term as board chair. She’s stepping into the shoes left behind by Randy Bowman, who “becomes the immediate past president, following a four-year term that included the successful completion of the $150-million campaign to help build the new Parkland hospital.”
In addition to her professional experience as Prudential Asset Resources president/CEO, Hunt Consolidated Inc. 1st CIO and AMRESCO Inc.’s Sr. VP/CIO, she had “very personal experience in dealing with healthcare issues.
According to Catherine, “Having watched a younger brother struggle with drug addiction for almost 25 years, I saw first-hand what happens to people who have nowhere to turn other than a community hospital. I actively support Parkland because I believe that the character of a city is defined by how it cares for its least fortunate citizens. The dedicated professionals at Parkland understand the desperation and the helplessness of the poor and the underserved, and are dedicated to their care and recovery. I am proud to serve alongside them, doing what I can to help build a healthier community.”
Catherine’s served on the Parkland Foundation Board of Directors since 2011.
