North Texan nonprofits are continuing to take major hits thanks to the evolving coronavirus. The latest batch of developments includes only cancellations and a hopeful virtual auction.
Canceled

- Nexus Recovery Center Auxiliary’s Luncheon scheduled for Monday, April 6
- Family Compass’ 2020 North Star Luncheon scheduled for Monday, April 27
- Fort Worth’s Mayfest scheduled for April 30-May 3
Rescheduled To Virtual
- Ally’s Wish’s Boots and Blessings scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at Austin Ranch at Hilton DFW Lakes is rescheduled for a virtual event/auction on Mother’s Day weekend
Yes, today’s cancellations are grim, and so will be those in the future. These groups are taking a knife to the heart of their fundraising, so that their supporters will be safe. Please consider allowing these and other fundraisers to survive by staying committed to them with your ticket and sponsor commitments.
As the experts and officials keep repeating, the sooner everyone hunkers down and doesn’t poo-poo this situation as “it doesn’t affect me,” the sooner it will be over and recovery will be underway.
If you haven’t guessed, this highly aggressive disease is very democratic. It’s wide open to all and is looking for victims.
