In past years the MySweetWishList series has been a wishful opportunity for North Texas nonprofits to share an end-of-year pitch. But this year’s series is literally more important than ever as area nonprofits are dramatically in need of attention and support.

Thanks to a generous, anonymous sponsor, the 2020 MySweetWishList series is absolutely free and kicking off on Monday, November 23, to rally the community. Some of the organizations will be familiar with new needs; others will be so new that you just might find an unexpected love connection.

If you’re a North Texas 501 (c) 3 and want to get your message out, submit the following info/materials:

  • A first-person article in Word format describing the one wish the organization would love to have. Example: Let’s say your organization is having a raffle. Then the wish might be for folks to buy raffle tickets as gifts for friends. Or, perhaps a homeless organization wishes for the donation of blankets and coats. Here are some examples of past “wishes”.
  • The author must be a nonprofit’s representative, preferably a volunteer
  • A photo of the author with ID and/or organization’s logo in JPEG format
  • The nonprofit’s website
  • The contact information for readers to respond to
  • Only one wish per nonprofit.
  • When you submit the materials to Jeanne.Prejean@MySweetCharity.com, please put the “MySweetWishList for [the organization’s name]” (Example: MySweetWishList for White Elephant Gift Society) in the subject line. If you don’t, the infamous MySweetCharity filters will probably send your submission into the great unknown.
  • We’ll need your submissions ASAP. It’ll be first come, first posted. The series is scheduled to end Tuesday, December 24.

As the year is finally ending, the good news is that North Texas philanthropy is not suffering from fundraising fatigue.
