Leave it to the Hoblitzelle Foundation to get on board for charity in a big way. The Fair Park First team has revealed that the generous foundation established in 1942 by the late Esther and Karl Hoblitzelle has just provided a gift of $2M toward the creation of the 11-acre Community Park along Fitzhugh.

Fair Park Master Plan’s Phase One*

According to Foundation President Katie Robbins, “Hoblitzelle Foundation is excited that the new Community Park will be not only a great attraction to Fair Park guests, but a welcoming and wonderful respite for residents from surrounding communities. We are honored to be a part of this impactful effort to put the ‘park’ back in Fair Park.”

The signature component in Phase one of the Master Plan Update and the “Fair Park, Your Park” capital campaign, Community Park will “feature amenities and programming, including Wi-Fi, splash pads, a flex lawn, pavilions, shaded areas, natural areas, waterscapes, landscape buffers, all age/all abilities children’s play area and more.”

But Fair Park First’s mission of “restoring, revitalizing and renewing the 277-acre National Historic Landmark known as Fair Park” will require additional funding to hit its goal of $85M in the next five years for the first phase. You’re welcome to join the Foundation by donating here.
