Just a couple of hours before the last gasp of the warm days of 2023 had folks out with their dogs, the Katy Trail Art Society’s Fall seated dinner on Le Bilboquet’s side pergola got underway on Wednesday, November 8.
Katy Trail Executive Director Amy Bean admitted that luck was on their side as a full-fledged cold front complete with rain was just a couple of hours away.

As guests like Kaleta Blaffer Johnson, Natalie Hamilton Eddy, Janelle and Alden Pinnell, Lisa and John Runyon, Patrick Collins and Brandon Bean sat down for dinner, Amy and Art Committee Co-Chair Amanda Shufeldt thank them for their support of the program that was providing artwork along the Trail.
Introduced by Art Curator Vivian Li of the Dallas Museum of Art, the evening’s featured speaker/artist Will Boone admitted that seeing two of his new sculptures on the Trail at Snyder’s Union was exciting.

As he put it, “What public sculptures do is enshrine our beliefs. We, as humans, have been doing this for thousands of years — putting art in public spaces and putting art in places where people walk.”
